The Plays:

"Broken Yolks” by JT Westfield- When a wife’s dream comes true, twisted realities get revealed after eighteen years of marriage. A hilarious comedy about fidelity.

“Wormwood” by Barbara Blatner- A Ukrainian husband, Anton, is stationed in the woods fighting Russian troops. He communicates with his wife, Lillya and their daughter Polina via text. When Lilly’s uncle, Mykola appears, the realities of drone warfare become apparent.

 

​​“Hemlock Haven” by Karen Devaney- A rather unconventional wellness retreat helps a group of strangers remember how to connect with themselves and each other.

Soapbox Stageworks provides a sandbox for international, US, and local Playwrights to premiere theatrical work in collaboration with ‘Creatives’ from the Monterey Peninsula to exhibit truly dynamic theatre. 

Culminating into distinct and provocative theatre experiences, Soapbox Stageworks produces the final material for performance with local and guest talent.  We have created a world-class sustainable theatre that welcomes every corner of our community and invites all facets of collaboration. There’s room in the sandbox for everyone at Soapbox Stageworks.
