How We Help
Soapbox Stageworks is about community, telling the untold stories, and collaborating to make theatre entertaining, poignant, and place to give back. We are committed to donating 10% of each performance proceeds to a local nonprofit. Groups we have partnered with both currently and in the past are listed below, please check them out and give them support! You can click on their group names to be directly sent to their websites. We are excited to work with the colorful array of local nonprofits making the Monterey Peninsula a magical place to live, and look forward to helping as many local groups as we can.
The mission of the Arts Council for Monterey County (Arts4MC) is to improve the quality of life for everyone in our region through the arts.
Dick Crispo, James Alinder, Ilene Tuttle, George De Groat, Todd Lueders, George Faul, and Helen Kingsley, along with the support of Ansel Adams, created the Council in 1982 as part of a nationwide movement powered by the National Endowment for the Arts, “to develop and assist art and cultural programs, and to promote the employment of artists within the county.”
"Girls Inc. is the preeminent girls’ leadership organization equipping girls to reach their full potential. The Girls Inc. Experience changes the trajectory of girls’ lives and prepares them for lifelong success.
"Founded in 2014, Gathering for Women (GFW), a non-profit organization based in Monterey California, that provides a safe, dignified walk-in center so homeless and at risk women can access valuable resources and address both their short and longer term needs. No other center on the Monterey Peninsula provides the same level of service to women who are homeless.
Understanding there is not a “one size fits all solution” and that each woman is an individual with their own history, circumstances, challenges, hopes and dreams, the GFW team is dedicated to personalized care."
Vision
We will soon also be granted a non-profit status, so please keep checking back as we work to build a dynamic center for the performing arts!
